Therapy for High-Functioning Anxiety

You're doing everything right — and still feel like something's off. Let's change that.

Life can feel overwhelming even when you're "doing all the things." The tight chest. The racing thoughts. The inability to fully exhale at the end of the day — even when you have every reason to.

If you're ready to move beyond constant stress, break the patterns keeping you stuck, and finally feel grounded in your own body, you're in the right place.

I'm Shanley O'Keefe, LPC — a licensed therapist working with adults, busy professionals, and moms in Red Bank, NJ and virtually throughout New Jersey. My approach blends evidence-based therapy with somatic and nervous system work so that healing happens from the inside out.

Therapy that works with your mind and your body

Most people come to me after years of trying to think their way through anxiety, stress, or feeling stuck. They're smart, self-aware, capable — and still can't make things feel different.

That's not a failure of effort. It's a sign that the mind alone can't do all of the work.

I blend Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with somatic awareness and nervous system regulation — helping you understand the patterns keeping you stuck and release the tension your body has been quietly holding onto. Sessions are personalized, collaborative, and built around tools you can actually use between appointments.

This is not one-size-fits-all therapy. This is support that meets you where you are, paced to your needs, and built to create change that actually lasts.

Who I work with

You look capable on the outside, but feel the weight of everything on the inside.

High-Functioning Anxiety

The kind that builds so gradually you don't notice until you're depleted.

Chronic Stress and Overwhelm

Your body holding what your mind can't fully process.

Somatic Tension and Nervous System Dysregulation

Navigating what comes next when something has to change.

Life Transitions and Identity Shifts

Patterns that keep you from feeling fully like yourself.

Challenges With Self-Worth or Emotional Connection

Ways we can work together

High-Functioning Anxiety Therapy

You're reliable, accomplished, and quietly running on anxiety. It hides in the overthinking, the perfectionism, the inability to truly relax — even when things are going well. High-functioning anxiety doesn't have to be your baseline.

Therapy for Life Transitions

Career shifts. Relationship crossroads. Burnout. Becoming a parent. Losing your footing after achieving everything you thought you wanted. Life transitions are disorienting even when you chose them — and you don't have to navigate them alone.

Somatic Therapy & Nervous System Regulation

When talk therapy hasn't been enough, somatic work reaches what words sometimes can't. By learning to notice and work with what's happening in your body, you build a nervous system that feels calmer, safer, and more regulated — and that shift changes everything.

What Working Together Looks Like

Heal, EXPAND, Shine

Anxiety to Empowerment

Recognize your anxiety, build the tools to work with it, and step into a life that feels aligned and not just managed.

Overwhelm to Clarity

Release the chronic tension and mental noise so you can think clearly, make decisions from a grounded place, and move forward with intention.

Feeling Stuck to Expansion

Break the patterns that have kept you small and step into the version of yourself you already sense is possible.

I’m Shanley O’Keefe

Anxiety Therapist
Spiritual Lifestyle Curator

My journey in self-expression began with modeling and acting in Manhattan as a child, but it was the early loss of one of my primary caregivers that sparked my love for writing as a coping skill. Experiential healing has been the central theme of my life ever since.

After graduating from Villanova University, I moved to Los Angeles as a “starving artist," but my life changed direction when I became a nanny for a little boy with Down Syndrome. This experience shifted my focus from acting to working with others, causing an unavoidable awareness.

In my 20s, I recognized I had a problem with alcohol and made the decision to become sober. This journey deepened my faith in a higher power. Raising four children has further expanded my trust in something greater. I returned to Northwestern University to earn my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and am now a licensed therapist working with individuals in private practice. At the same time, I also earned my certification in life coaching where I expand clients into experiential healing.

My work is rooted in the belief that our capacity to love others cannot exceed our capacity to love ourselves.

If you're ready to raise your consciousness and step into your true self — I'd be delighted to work with you.

Whether you're navigating anxiety that won't quit, a season of your life that doesn't quite make sense yet, or a body that's been carrying more than it should — this is where the work begins.
